Obama DHS and FBI Targeting Veterans

Filed under: americansagainstobama — nhiemstra @ 9:30 pm

Obama is the making of a dictator. First this week we have the DHS report which outlines people who oppose “big government” and high taxes are somehow extremists which must be profiled by the Department of Homeland Security.

Moron-in-charge, Janet Napolitano, refuses to apologize or explain the rationale behind these fact less allegations against veterans and everyday Americans. Now it’s come to light that the FBI is also investigating and targeting veterans.

The FBI documents show the bureau was working with investigators inside the nation’s uniformed services “in an effort to identify those current or former soldiers who pose a domestic terrorism threat.” The other agencies working with the FBI are the U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Division, the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Offshore Oil Drilling Ban Will Be Restored ‘By Any Means

Filed under: americansagainstobama — nhiemstra @ 8:22 pm

The ban on offshore oil drilling that expired last September will be restored by “any means necessary,” Rep. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.), who serves on both the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, told CNSNews.com on Friday.

Inslee, who participated in a conference entitled “Planning for a Secure Energy Future” sponsored by the Washington Post, also recommended a ban on future drilling in the arctic, where he says there is a “gold rush” for oil uncovered by melting ice caps.

AIG “Outrage” Was Staged

Filed under: americansagainstobama — nhiemstra @ 8:18 pm

This whole “outrage” over the AIG bonuses was staged.  Obama and the democrats knew about these bonuses for weeks and months beforehand, and Dodd specifically knew about them, and tried to lie about it.  They even rushed a 1000+ page bill, which most did not even read, to illegally tax the AIG employees who received bonuses.

But continuing through this week it was clearly obvious that the real intention here was to stage this outrage in an effort to accomplish a few things.

  • More anti-business sentiment. It’s no secret democrats are no friends to business, unless of course they are directly benefiting from kickbacks, but being against successful Americans is all part of their class warfare strategy they have played for decades.  This week was the perfect opportunity to grand stand in front of the cameras and show how “evil” these people were for accepting bonuses.  Unfortunately, it seemed to have worked, as employees are being threatened, and even left-wing groups are holding bus tours of AIG employees homes.
  • Limiting Executive Pay. Another part of this ploy was to use it as an excuse to get the government more involved in overseeing the pay and perks that businesses pay.  It’s already starting, and don’t think for one second this only applies to businesses that receive bailout money.  This is more of Obama’s socialist agenda coming into play.
  • Gateway to higher taxes. In response to their fake outrage, they passed an illegal bill taxing the bonuses over 90%.  Once again, don’t think this applies only to AIG and companies receiving bailout money.  This was another bill passed without scrutiny and oversight, all in the name of this “outrage”.

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are the three most corrupt politicians in office today, followed closely by Dodd and Frank.  American prosperity is being taken away more and more each week, and the media is fully complacent in it.  Don’t believe any of this fake outrage, it’s all part of the socialist scheme they are trying to pull over America.  We need to stop it now!

President Plans to Charge Wounded Heroes for Treatment

Filed under: americansagainstobama — nhiemstra @ 11:10 am

The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

“It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan,” said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. “He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.”

The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, “This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate ‘ to care for him who shall have borne the battle’ given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harm’s way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of America’s veterans!”

Commander Rehbein was among a group of senior officials from veterans service organizations joining the President, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki and Steven Kosiak, the overseer of defense spending at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The group’s early afternoon conversation at The White House was precipitated by a letter of protest presented to the President earlier this month. The letter, co-signed by Commander Rehbein and the heads of ten colleague organizations, read, in part, ” There is simply no logical explanation for billing a veteran’s personal insurance for care that the VA has a responsibility to provide. While we understand the fiscal difficulties this country faces right now, placing the burden of those fiscal problems on the men and women who have already sacrificed a great deal for this country is unconscionable.”

Commander Rehbein reiterated points made last week in testimony to both House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees. It was stated then that The American Legion believes that the reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate that VA treat service-connected injuries and disabilities given that the United States government sends members of the armed forces into harm’s way, and not private insurance companies. The proposed requirement for these companies to reimburse the VA would not only be unfair, says the Legion, but would have an adverse impact on service-connected disabled veterans and their families. The Legion argues that, depending on the severity of the medical conditions involved, maximum insurance coverage limits could be reached through treatment of the veteran’s condition alone. That would leave the rest of the family without health care benefits. The Legion also points out that many health insurance companies require deductibles to be paid before any benefits are covered. Additionally, the Legion is concerned that private insurance premiums would be elevated to cover service-connected disabled veterans and their families, especially if the veterans are self-employed or employed in small businesses unable to negotiate more favorable across-the-board insurance policy pricing. The American Legion also believes that some employers, especially small businesses, would be reluctant to hire veterans with service-connected disabilities due to the negative impact their employment might have on obtaining and financing company health care benefits.

“I got the distinct impression that the only hope of this plan not being enacted,” said Commander Rehbein, “is for an alternative plan to be developed that would generate the desired $540-million in revenue. The American Legion has long advocated for Medicare reimbursement to VA for the treatment of veterans. This, we believe, would more easily meet the President’s financial goal. We will present that idea in an anticipated conference call with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel in the near future.

“I only hope the administration will really listen to us then. This matter has far more serious ramifications than the President is imagining,” concluded the Commander.

Obama Received AIG Bonus, Time for Him to Resign

Filed under: RedState, americansagainstobama — nhiemstra @ 11:04 am

Washington was filled with a bunch of the usual fake outrage from the left concerning the bonuses that AIG executives received. Lets remember, these bonuses were allowed in the Porulus bill from Obama.

Now we find out Obama, and many other politicians were the recipients of bonuses and payoffs from AIG during the campaign.

From Redstate

Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org. The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are – Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.

The A.I.G. Financial Products affiliate of A.I.G. gave out $136,928, the most of any AIG affiliate, in the 2008 cycle.  I would note that A.I.G.’s financial products division is the unit that wrote trillions of dollars’ worth of credit-default swaps and “misjudged” the risk.

The Washington Post reports a “mob effect” at A.I.G financial products division:

A tidal wave of public outrage over bonus payments swamped American International Group yesterday. Hired guards stood watch outside the suburban Connecticut offices of AIG Financial Products, the division whose exotic derivatives brought the insurance giant to the brink of collapse last year. Inside, death threats and angry letters flooded e-mail inboxes. Irate callers lit up the phone lines. Senior managers submitted their resignations. Some employees didn’t show up at all.

With the anger and rage that is being exhibited against A.I.G., perhaps the bonuses Obama received from A.I.G. explain Obama’s A.I.G crocodile tears.

Now that the Wall street Journal has revealed that A.I.G. paid bonuses of $1 million or more to 73 employees, it’s time to ask if recipients of A.I.G. “bonuses,” including President Obama, will give back what now ought to be taxpayer money?

Pelosi is a Shame: Calls Illegals “Patriotic”, ICE Raids “Un-American”

Sometimes I wonder how and why people like Pelosi are constantly elected, then I remember what area she represents and then it all makes sense.

Pelosi has to be one of the worst leaders in American history, and she is the typical politician who will tell the crowd what exactly they want to hear.

Nanci Pelosi thinks enforcing our current immigration laws is “un-American.” She called a mixed group of legal and illegal immigrants patriotic. I have no doubt there are many patriotic legal immigrants who have become naturalized citizens. I know some. However, calling someone who sneaks across our border and flaunts our laws in order to send money to their relatives in a foreign county patriotic is beyond belief. The water in San Francisco must be pure kool-aid.
