HEALTH CARE
This dead horse has been beaten mercilessly. But THIS one can come back to life. We have to BEAT IT every time we even THINK it might come back to life. We have to make use of this recess to raise as much hell as we CAN. Go to a town hall meeting, call your senator, show up at their house, I don’t care WHAT YOU DO(as long as you don’t violate the law) . . . But the GOVERNMENT CANNOT, I don’t care HOW if flu shots get to $1,000 . . . We CANNOT allow the federal government to be involved in our health care decisions. You think health care is “broke” now? Wait til Gov’t gets their hands on it! NO health care would be better than GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE!
- When Washington shows they can do ANYTHING on budget, as planned, THEN come talk to me about taking over my health care. Not until then.
- Included in the proposed bill is “end of life counseling.” Google it. And THAT is all you need tknow about government health care. You want the GOVERNMENT to sit down with YOUR PARENTS every five years, and “break it to them” that it might be time to start taking more pain pills and get less procedures? I don’t think so.
- It is a basic law of economics, when you increase DEMAND, prices rice and scarcity gets worse(unless you also get a magical proportional increase in supply). There is NO WAY AROUND IT. Also, prices rise when SUPPLY is reduced. I can cite example after example of this(it happens every day) . . . What happens to the price of plywood in Miami when a hurricane is approaching? You can’t even FIND plywood to buy, at ANY PRICE. What happens to the price of gas when violence erupts in the Mideast? Supply and mand are in constant flux, and ANYTHING that disrupts the equilibrium affects price. You can’t legislate this FACT AWAY.Try DUMPING 40 million people suddenly into waiting rooms around this country. What is going to happen? Waiting lines, waiting lists, rationing, and yes . . . HIGHER PRICES. Oh, and lower quality of care. You can’t just wave a magic wand and suddenly have thousands of hospitals, and doctors just appear out of nowhere. Don’t believe me? Just look at Canada, Great Britain, or ANY other country that has tried socialized medicine.
When the WEALTHY from all over this world come HERE for health care, that tells ya all ya need to know. They aren’t coming here for the lovely scenery. Men in Great Britain with prostate cancer have ONE-FOURTH the chance at survival as we have here. In Canada they have a LOTTERY to decide who will get the kidney and who doesn’t. People ESCAPE Australia, Great Britain, France, Canada . . . And EVERY country to get our (admittedly) more expensive, but FAR SUPERIOR health care!
- If universal health care is such a good idea, okay Barack . . . pick ONE STATE, ANY STATE . . and lets see how it works. I give it six months and Obama’s approval rating will be 10%. COme on! If it’s such a good idea, then SHOW us how good it is! Massachussetts tried it and failed. Tennesse tried it and failed. Hawaii tried it and failed. IT doesn’t WORK! People don’t get the treatment and costs go through the roof!
- Profits are not BAD. It is the PURSUIT of profits that gave us MRI’s, hand transplants, face transplants, heart transplants, and many wonderful life-saving treatments. These things take money to develop, and apparently, as a society, we have decided it was WORTH IT. It helps us LIVE longer. Overburden the system and take away the profits that drive the system and new drugs and procedures will dry up and wither away. Companies aren’t going to waste their money developing theings the government won’t even pay for.
GOV’T WASTE
We had the TARP . . . Which was soon followed by the revelation that THOUSANDS of bank executives received bonuses of OVER $1 Million. That was YOUR money. Then there was the “stimulus.” Remember all those “shovel ready” projects that were going to be funded to “jolt” the economy? Here we are, SIX MONTHS LATER, with only 10% of the $787 Billion spent and we are already talking about ANOTHER STIMULUS!
Obama promised, if we passed the stimulus bill, “right now,” unemployment would cap below 8% and 4 Million jobs would be created. Well here we are at nearly 10% . . . And where are the jobs? State after state has taken the stimulus money and used it to balance their own budgets . . . The money is NOT being spent on “new shovel ready projects.” Remember, Joe Biden was going to monitor the states to make sure the money was going to be spent as planned. Remember . . . “nobody messes with Joe?” Well apparently, someone DOES mess with Joe. And they’re messin’ with YOU.
How many examples of government waste can YOU recall? I am not going to even START. Between the lavish RETREATS at resorts, the “save the animals, screw the taxpayer” projects, just don’t get me started. THIS is why the STIMULUS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TAX CUT, PERIOD. If YOU had all those tax dollars you sent to Washington to save otters, salamanders, mice, and the environment, catering to LOBBYISTS . . . YOU could have taken your family to dinner, to the movies, put food on your table, bought clothes YOU need, and all of THIS economic activity would have IMMEDIATELY created new jobs, which creates new taxpayers, which creates MORE economic activity, which creates more jobs, and it just steamrolls . . . We have proven it TIME AND AGAIN. But what do we do? Allow ourselves to be duped by an idiot reading a speech(that someone else wrote for him) from a teleprompter. Just unbelievable. Bottom line: if WE were spending the money, we wouldn’t be WASTING IT like Washington is so bent on doing. Okay, now I need to take a deep breath . . .
IRAN/NORTH KOREA
Iran and North Korea are now BOTH in possession of Americans who just “wandered” accidentally across their border. Which reminds me . .. How is that “sitting down and talking” with these rogue regimes going? And what has this administration doing to free the two reporters from North Korea, who are serving HARD LABOR in a prison camp renowned for torture, rape, poor conditions . . . A prison where FEW survive. We have another Jimmy Carter on our hands. Countries are threatening us OPENLY, taking Americans prisoner, and WE are the ones who tour the world, apologizing for being America . . . America . . . America . . . A country where, if you wander across the border “accidentally,” you are not IMPRISONED, you are given a job, a welfare check, health care, you get your children educated for free. Yeah, we have LOTS to apologize for.
