You know what jump the shark means don’t you?
It’s when a TV show has a defining moment when it ceases to be relevant anymore, like when the Fonz jumped the sharks on water skis on the Happy Days TV show. That moment was the end of the line for the show.
Wiki defines it as- ‘Jumping the shark is a colloquialism coined by Jon Hein and used by TV critics and fans to denote the point in a television program’s or film series’ history where the plot veers off into absurd story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations. This usually corresponds to the point where a show with falling ratings apparently becomes more desperate to draw in viewers. In the process of undergoing these changes, the TV or movie series loses its original appeal. Shows that have “jumped the shark” are typically deemed to have passed their peak.’
Well, between ObamaGates and what’s been going on with the Healthcare bill, the stimulus, and crap and tax, I think that Fri 7/25/2009 may go down as Obama’s jump the shark day.
Maybe it’s not over for the whole Obama presidency. He may realize that he better center up like Clinton did, and make something of his presidency. Or, he may continue his far left agenda, which will cause his popularity to continue to plummet.
Either way, I’m predicting that yesterday will go down in history as the day Obama jumped the shark. The über-liberal Obama literally put on the leather jacket, strapped on his skis and jumped that shark tank.
I’ll not miss that Obama.
