Absolutely great news as Michael Steele was elected the new Chair of the Republican National Committee with 91 votes on the fifth ballot.
Mr. Steele is now the face of the GOP. And that is good not only for my party, but for the nation.
Now, the leaders of both political parties are black. And it shows that the GOP is finally realizing that it needs to reach beyond the base in voters. Mr. Steele has a way of articulating the conservative message in a positive-re: Reagan-manner. It has been sorely lacking and with the GOP in the minority at the national level, this vote was very important and showed that the GOP can rise to the occasion.
